[Intertitle] 'Somethimes moving on can take time'

Scene one- Jem is lead in his bed. He is surrounded by used tissues and is crying.He is watching the Titanic this is clear by the iconic soundtrack "My heart will go on," playing in the background. Split screen Kate is dancing around her rooms with friends. She is surrounded with make-up and clearly having a good time.


Scene two-Jem is singing to an instrumental version of "Nothing compares to you."George enters from the back of the room.Jem does not realise until George starts speaking. He is startled and abruptly stops singing. He is clutching a photograph of Kate in his hands.


George- Dude its been three months


Jem- (powerfully) No! (weakly) It's been two months, three weeks, six days and (looks at watch) twenty-two hours.


George- You need to snap out. You got together when you were like four (Jem glares whilst George attempts to take the photo away from him but jem refuses to let go.) I've been on four dates this month.


Jem- Your mum dosn't count....


George-Hey you leave Margret out of this! You my friend (pointing a jem) need to get back on the dating scene.



Scene three- Jem re-enters the room.He is puff eyed and it is clear he has been crying.


George- (Drinking beer from a beer hat.) How did it go?


Jem- Not good (whilst crossing the room behind George.)


George- What do you mean not good? Mrs Smith is my mums friend.

[Intertitle] 'But how do you move on?'

Music - Teenage kicks by Nouvelle Vague

Scene Four
Jem is sat at the resturant table and looks up and sees Ruby.Ruby sit at the table opposite Jem.Jem has red eyes from crying.
Iris-H-hey, have you been crying?
Jem-What (with a thick sounding throat) No (rubs his eyes) Its really lovely to meet you.
Cut
Iris has her head in her hands and is looking around for bar staff. She may take a large swig of her own drink.
Jem- And its like she ripped out my heart and stamped on it over and over again (Banging his fist on the table.) Do you have any idea what that feels like?
Shots of lots of women sitting in a chair opposite Jem to create the effect of time moving on.

Scene five-
Ruby- And so this one time like I dated a farmer and he was alright for abit but like he smelt and then my mum kicked me out because I got with my step dad and y'know and that was sad but hey.. Can I have some of that? ( without hesitation Ruby picks up Jems glass and drinks from it.)

Scene six-
Dave sits down grinning. Imogen is spotted laughing at the bar.

Scene seven-
Jem-Hey take a seat
Bella-I'll have a white wine ( Jem hesitates and Bella gestures him towards the bar with her hand. Imogen is at the bar and she smiles as she sees Jem approaching.)
Jem-Hey can I have a white wine and a stella please?
Imogen-Sure, and a word of advice. Your date is stealing from your coat.
Pan of Bella stealing Jems wallet and exiting the resturant.
